Being a native of the Columbia, SC area, Dr. Cain stayed true to his roots by attending the University of South Carolina for both his undergraduate degree the school’s Medicine Masters of Biomedical Science Program before graduating from Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Dental Medicine.
Upon graduation, Dr. Cain completed a General Practice Residency with Palmetto Health Richland where he received advanced training in the specialty areas of surgical techniques and emergency dental care.
While attending school, Dr. Cain served as the President of the MUSC College of Dental Medicine Class of 2014, was an MUSC Presidential Scholar, and was the recipient of five awards of distinction: the South Carolina Dental Association Award, the MUSC Dental Alumni Student Leadership Award, and the Academy of Osseointegration, the Outstanding Student in Implant Dentistry Award, and the American Association of Endodontists Award.
Dr. Cain is currently serving as the President of the Greater Columbia Dental Association and is a member of many other local and national dental associations and societies. He is also an adjunct faculty member with the Palmetto Health General Practice Residency. In addition to lecturing on various topics in modern dentistry at the school, he teaches residents on advanced dental techniques by utilizing direct patient interaction.
Currently living in Lexington with his wife Megan, daughter Charlotte, and son Liam, he enjoys spending his free time on Lake Murray with his family and friends.
